JURA SOYFER in the Ukrainian web (in Ukrainian Language)

Lana Berndl

In the following, I present some examples of the reception of Jura Soyfer in Ukrainian, which shall be published in Jura Soyfer Open Access:

1) For example an announcement from the Poetry Festival Meridian in Chernivtsi

(Czernowitz/Czerniwzi):

https://platfor.ma/art/520b913b1b589/

http://www.meridiancz.com/blog/teatralne-revyu-za-tvoramy-yury-zojfera/

where also takes place the theatre performance „Jura Soyfer revue“ based on motives of his books with the participation of the Austrian „Teatro caprile“.

2) Interesting is an article by Svitlana Oleschko, founder of Arabesky Theatre, where she writes about cabaret in Warsaw and also mentions Jura Soyfer:

https://culture.pl/ru/article/nevarshava-misto-yakogo-vzhe-nemaie-ale-yake-vse-shche-trivaie

Here Jura Soyfer is also mentioned, who said „circus, revolution and cabaret will talk our cities“.

There is an interesting issue for political cabaret, although there was no cabaret in Kharkiv

3) The same announcement about the performance in PinchukArtCenter in Kyiv.

https://vechirniy.kyiv.ua/news/nich-v-art-tsentri-kyyanam-pidhotuvaly-nasychenu-mystets-ku-prohramu

Play „Eight stories about Jura Soyfer“ by Serhiy Zhadan
Arabesky Theatre in Kharkiv, director Svitlana Oleshko, who in her work deals with the „Kharkiv identity“, present a few episodes of the play „Eight stories of Jura Soyfer“ by Serhiy Zhadan

It is interesting that in all advertisements and announcements, Jura Soyfer is emphasized as one of the few Austrian authors who has been translated into more than 30 world languages.

4) There are also excerpts from the „Radiochanson or eight stories about Jura Soyfer“ by the Arabesky Theatre in the Rockcafé in Dnipropetrovsk on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNVZHqzNetQ

Poems by Serhiy Zhadan. Actor – Misko Barbara (from the famous Ukrainian rock band „Mertwyj piven“ „The Dead Rooster“)

5) There is also a page where you can buy CDs, audio books etc.
Among them is also CD of Arabesky Studio Theatre, band Kharkiv Klezmer, Serhiy Zhadan. Radio Chanson: Eight stories about Jury Soyfer (brochure + CD of 66:37 minutes).

6) Of course there are entries in Wikipedia aboput Jura Soyfer as author as well as the street with his Name:

https://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%AE%D1%80%D0%B0_%D0%97%D0%BE%D0%B9%D1%84%D0%B5%D1%80

It is interesting that the link to the biography is not accessible here from May 2019.

As well as two other links about the presentation of Theater Arabesky.

7) And then all the presentations and lectures, symposium and theatre performances on the occasion of the 100th anniversary in the first capital of Ukraine Kharkiv and the birthplace of Jura Soyfer in the Austrian Library.

Presentation of the anthology of Jura Soyfer, various lectures, presentation of the Jura Soyfer Society, opening of the exhibition and again a performance of „Radio Chanson 8 Geschichten über Jura Soyfer“ (РАДІОШАНСОН ВІСІМ ІСТОРІЙ ПРО ЮРУ ЗОЙФЕРА) by the Arabesky Theatre
