Introduction
The Austrian election campaign has shown that the Internet is of vital importance. The role of state television, advertisement media, the business fields of application (surveys, commentaries, etc.) has declined.
But it also turned out that marketing for the digital dollar did not really work, because the language of advertising does not correspond to the reality of large–language models. A reproduction of big data, too, remains a reproduction. AI, in this sense, is “no intelligence.”
But there is a new world of digital multimedia, with new audiences (including a large accumulation of BOTs), new worlds of memory. Beyond marketing, which essentially aims to preserve the dollar as the world currency after the petrodollar disappears, the challenge is to become aware of the fundamentals of this technology. 0 and 1 (black and white) is not the reality of the world we live in. Before numerics, there were images, signs. The dominance of numerics is far from realities and also hinders access to the use of quantum technology.
The symposion will focus on practical experiences: digital projects under evaluation, digital projects under development, many theatre projects, but also art projects in other areas. The approach, the results of today‚s cultural studies will be questioned.
