Festić, Fatima

Fatima Festić has a background in comparative literature and philosophy, and has worked as a Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Research Fellow in the humanities and cultural studies at various universities in the USA, Western and Eastern Europe, South Africa, and Turkey. Her current projects at the University of Amsterdam focus on inter-art translation and societal dispersion and on transnational configurations in post-conflict societies. Festić’s publications include more than 60 articles and chapters pertaining to literary and cultural studies, semiotics, psychoanalytic, gender and feminist theories and criticism, and the books Responsiveness to Comparison in Literature (2022), Gender and Trauma: Interdisciplinary Dialogues (2012), The Body of the Postmodernist Narrator (2009), and Constructions of Victimhood in Contemporary Cultures (2009). 

Festić is a Board member of various International scientific associations, cultural institutions and journals, and a fellow of the International Communicology Institute (D.C).
